# Kamil Oczkowski

> Staff full-stack engineer, seven years in. I build the platforms behind sites used by two million customers.

Next.js and Vercel migrations, a design-token system shared by designers and engineers, a company-wide Auth0 rollout, and the delivery pipelines that let eight squads merge tested features straight to main.

## Experience

### Staff Engineer, E.ON Next (2026 → now)

Technical lead across 8 squads and around 40 engineers in the go-to-market team. Led the migration of every customer-facing site to Next.js and Vercel, the design-token system behind them, and the company-wide move to Auth0. Cut AWS costs by 40%.

### Lead Frontend Engineer, E.ON Next (2024 → 2026)

Directed a cross-functional team through a major application refresh, owning delivery end to end. Improved TTFB, asset sizes and layout shift, and cut time to delivery from days to hours by removing the release ceremony and merging e2e-tested features straight to main.

### Senior Frontend Engineer, E.ON Next (2023 → 2024)

Rebuilt deployment pipelines, cutting runtime from around an hour to 12 minutes, and built a rollback mechanism that reverts or freezes deployments when observability alerts fire. Led the design-system proof of concept and mentored junior and mid-level developers.

### Mid-Level Frontend Engineer, E.ON Next (2022 → 2023)

Rebuilt the navigation system on Contentful and made it fully accessible, with ESLint and Axe enforcing the standard. Led a major dashboard rewrite.

### Mid-Level Frontend Engineer, Maglabs (2021 → 2022)

Built a digital asset management platform used by brands such as Universal, Morrisons and Heinz, including its multipart upload tool for media up to 20 GB. Refactored legacy code to improve performance and fix bugs, then rebuilt the product's front end from scratch for release.

### Junior Frontend Engineer, Intent.ly (2019 → 2021)

Client triggers and proofs of concept, Webpack tree shaking and bundle splitting for client tags, internal analytics dashboard widgets.

## Selected projects

- **Design-token system** (e.on next): One source of truth for designers and engineers across every E.ON Next brand, from a proof of concept to the system behind all customer-facing sites.
- **Auth0, company-wide** (e.on next): Planned the move of around two million customers to Auth0 as a gradual proxy migration with no downtime, and drove the rollout with another staff engineer.
- **Home automation platform** (home): Home Assistant on the Proxmox host, built and run on my own since early 2025: 100+ automations, a Zigbee sensor network, cameras whose detections a vision model double-checks, and an AI coding agent that operates the server from inside it.
- **Home server on a rack** (home): A network rack I built at home in November 2025: a UDM Pro, Cat6 runs I pulled through the house, and a server on Proxmox running the VMs and containers everything else lives in.
